Below are some expectations for conference participants. Please check each box, signifying that you understand and accept these expectations.
This workshop will depart Utah Valley University on October 24th at 4:00 PM and arrive back at UVU on October 27th at 7:00 pm. During that time there will be no internet access or cell reception. Please confirm that you are aware of these conditions.
There will be a mandatory pre-trip meeting happening via Microsoft Teams. Please confirm that you aware of this and expect to attend.
The workshop will be conducted primarily at the Capitol Reef Field Station, an energy efficient dorm-style facility located deep inside Capitol Reef National Park. Workshop participants and instructors will be traveling in university vehicles and staying at the field station in shared rooms. Participants will help prepare group meals and will clean the facility on checkout. Please confirm that you are aware of these conditions.
Prior to the conference you will be expected to read a handful of pre-selected excerpts, and be prepared to discuss them during the conference. Please confirm that you are aware of this requirement.
During this workshop we will be going on a five mile hike. You may determine your own pace but come prepared with hiking shoes and appropriate clothing. Please confirm that you are aware of these conditions and are physically able to join us.
The cost of attendance is $300.00. This price includes transportation, food, lodging, and a printed NTTC field guide. Please confirm that you are aware of the cost of attendance.
This training is good for two Continuing Education Units AFTER the successful completion of this conference and associated assignment. You must register through MIDAS prior to leaving for the conference (course # 50630).
Once selected, please secure your spot by paying the conference fee. Note that if you cancel within two weeks of the conference, you are entitled to a partial refund ($150). If you cancel the week of the conference, no refunds will be allowed.
